2024 Parks Clean Up

 

Stop by the hall THIS WEEKEND! on Sunday, May 26th between 1pm – 3pm
and help clean up Queen Mary Park’s green spaces, alleys, and roads.

Pick up a cleaning kit, meet your neighbours, and help keep our community beautiful!

Help out and you could be entered to win a prize!

*Kits include grabbers, garbage bags, and gloves.

Please remember to:

  • Dress for the weather and wear a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent
  • Wear gloves at all times
  • Wear sturdy footwear (open toe shoes are not recommended)
  • Keep a lookout for hazards around you (such as cars, other people)
  • Do not trespass on private property
  • Lift carefully! Do not pick up heavy or oversized items

If found, report the following to 311:

  • Sharp items, including needles and broken glass
  • Syringes or other drug paraphernalia
  • Hazardous waste
  • Suspicious items
  • Heavy and oversized items
  • Encampments

2024 Community Garage Sale – June 1st

Come out and find some treasures at Queen Mary Park’s Community-Wide Garage Sale!

Several sales will be taking place on Saturday, June 1st at homes throughout the neighbourhood. New this year – sales will also be taking place at the hall!

Sales will take place from 9am – 5pm.

Ladies Swap N’ Shop – June 14th

It’s our annual call to do some spring cleaning and go through your closet! Ladies, bring any clean gently used clothing to the hall. No minimum to bring and no maximum to take. The more selection the better!

DATE CHANGE: This event will now take place on
FRIDAY, June 14th from 6:30pm – 9:00pm

This event is for anyone that wears feminine clothing.

Light refreshments will be available. Plus, it’s a great time to socialize!

*Due to the nature of the event we want everyone to be comfortable to try on clothes etc. Please leave the men and children at home

2024 Community Bin Event – June 15th

It’s that time again! Have you been procrastinating on that needed dump run? Queen Mary Park Community League is hosting our annual Community bin event!

Other services that will be available will be paper shredding and an electronics bin.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! Are you able to give some time? Please contact christopher@queenmarypark.ca

Please note:
* We are unable to take anything toxic, including paints, stains and/or chemicals.
** No fridges, freezers or tires.

Queen Mary Park Community League is seeking volunteers to help out with our Community Big Bin Event on Saturday, June 15th.

Queen Mary Park Community League is a part of the TGP Wholesale Market’s Community League Program!

When you make a purchase at the TGP Wholesale Market, tell the cashier you’re from the Queen Mary Park Community League and TGP will donate a portion of your purchase to the League. This donation will help fund further programming and events through the community league.

So far, your purchases have helped make almost $600.00 for Queen Mary Park Community League’s programs and events!

You can find them at 11628 142 Street.

QMP Spring Yard Waste Collection

Queen Mary Park’s last spring yard waste collection is schedule for Monday, June 3rd.

Yard waste must be set out by 7:00am

Please Note:

  • Materials must be placed in double-ply paper bags or see-through plastic bags. (Yard waste in non-see-through bags will NOT be collected.
  • Branches less that 1 metre long may be tied and placed next to yard waste bags.
  • Please try to keep the bags under 44 lbs.
  • There is no limit to the number of bags you may set out for collection
Accepted Items:

  • Fallen leaves
  • Fallen fruit
  • Grass clippings (or leave them on the lawn)
  • Houseplants
  • Mulch and wood chips
  • Pine cones and needles
  • Sticks and twigs
  • Yard and garden trimmings
  • Weeds (except regulated/noxious weeds – put in garbage)
  • Branches (less than or equal to 20 centimetres in diameter)

Tree stumps, trunks and large branches (greater than 20 centimetres in diameter) are to be taken to an Eco Station. Drop off is free. 
 

Community League Meetings

QMP Community members are welcome to attend our monthly Community League Board meetings. Come out and find out more about your community, the league, and what’s happening in our neighbourhood!

Join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, June 11th at 6:30pm at the hall.
