QMP Career Club

We hope you will join us for our first night of QMP’s Career Club Program!
Starting Thursday, August 15th at 7pm and continuing on the third Thursday of every month.

This program is FREE and is aimed at those 18+ who are looking for career supports/tips/etc. Refreshments and door prizes will also be provided!

KAIROS Blanket Exercise – Sept. 29

We hope you will join us as Queen Mary Park Community League hosts the KAIROS Blanket Exercise for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Sunday, September 29th at 1pm.

The KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) is an experiential teaching tool based on participatory popular education methodology that explores the historic and contemporary relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in the land we now know as Canada.

This event will be facilitated by Bigstone Cree Nation member Ian Hopfe a Human Resources and Indigenous Relations Consultant and his wife Corinthé Stolee-Hopfe.

Membership RENEWALS

It’s that time of year again! Time to renew your Queen Mary Park Community League membership!

Memberships must be renewed every year on September 1st to stay current. Memberships can be renewed by signing up on our website at www.queenmarypark.ca/memberships or by emailing memberships@queenmarypark.ca.

Please ensure all relevant contact information is included in all renewal applications, including name, address in Queen Mary Park, phone number, and number of skate tags required.

Your FREE Membership benefits include:
– free skate tags for use at various skating rinks throughout the city
– free swimming at Commonwealth Rec Centre on Sundays from 1pm – 3pm
– free access at the Edmonton Tool Library
– access to various events and recreation programming
– connection with our vibrant community!

Queen Mary Park Community League is seeking volunteers to help out with our Community BBQ on Saturday, September 21st.

QMP Fall Yard Waste Collection

Queen Mary Park’s last spring yard waste collection is schedule for Monday, October 7th and Monday, November 11th.

Yard waste must be set out by 7:00am

Please Note:

Materials must be placed in double-ply paper bags or see-through plastic bags. (Yard waste in non-see-through bags will NOT be collected.
Branches less that 1 metre long may be tied and placed next to yard waste bags.
Please try to keep the bags under 44 lbs.
There is no limit to the number of bags you may set out for collection

Accepted Items:

Fallen leaves
Fallen fruit
Grass clippings (or leave them on the lawn)
Houseplants
Mulch and wood chips
Pine cones and needles
Sticks and twigs
Yard and garden trimmings
Weeds (except regulated/noxious weeds – put in garbage)
Branches (less than or equal to 20 centimetres in diameter)

Tree stumps, trunks and large branches (greater than 20 centimetres in diameter) are to be taken to an Eco Station. Drop off is free.

Get ready for an unforgettable experience because the Kaleido Festival is just around the corner! Taking place next weekend, September 13-15, this vibrant community celebration is set to bring joy, culture, and connection to everyone who attends.

Building on the incredible success of last year, they’re on the hunt for enthusiastic volunteers to help make this year’s festival even more spectacular.

Volunteers will dive into a variety of exciting activities—from event setup and coordination to engaging with festival-goers. It’s a rewarding way to give back while being at the heart of the action!
